My John le Carré rewatch project is getting out of hand!

So I finished the Smiley vs Karla trilogy of novels by John le Carré, and I rewatched the Gary Oldman Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy movie, AND I rewatched the Alec Guinness Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy miniseries. I had originally figured on doing those things and then writing up some quick thoughts.

Still in the midst of my John le Carré readings

A while back I said I was preparing for some John le Carré rewatches. I haven’t forgotten! I read Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, then The Honourable Schoolboy, and am now in the midst of Smiley’s People. Those novels constitute the Smiley vs. Karla trilogy. In addition, I have rewatched the recent Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy film starring Gary Oldman, but I have not yet rewatched the miniseries starring Alec Guinness. Soon, however, I will be able to report back on this project!

Preparing for some John le Carré rewatches

I’m halfway through the novel Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. I’ll have a one-sentence Goodreads review when I’m through (it’s all I can manage with two blogs to update and my real job to do besides!), but I’m already anticipating my rewatches of both the 2011 movie and the 1979 TV miniseries.
